WHAT IS A C-GROUP?
C-groups are groups of 8 – 12 people that meet for fellowship, bible study, and prayer. Groups also have a service element where members live out their faith through serving others in the community.
WHAT HAPPENS AT A C-GROUP?
Each C-group meeting will have a time of fellowship, bible study and prayer. Each C-group will also participate in a service project at least once per term.
WHAT DO THEY STUDY?
After a starter series, each group selects a bible-based study and/or DVD series from our in-house options or approved materials.
WHEN AND WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?
Each group decides when and where it will meet during the first few weeks. Times and locations will vary based on the needs of the group.
HOW OFTEN DO GROUPS MEET?
Groups will meet 2-4 times a month. A minimum of twice a month is required.
HOW LONG IS EACH C-GROUP MEETING?
Each C-group chooses the length of time they will meet. However, most groups meet for at least an hour and a half.
WHAT IS A C-LINK?
A C-link is an event designed to connect those interested in a C-group with the leaders of current groups and newly forming groups. C-link will be offered semi-annually for those who have indicated an interest in joining a group for the first time, groups that are adding new members, and for those that have just completed TUMC’s membership classes.
HOW OFTEN IS C-LINK HELD?
C-links are held semi-annually. One C-link will occur at the beginning of the school year and another at the beginning of the calendar year in January.
HOW LONG DOES A C-GROUP LAST?
Each C-group commits to a life cycle of 12 months from the time of the group’s inception. Members will have the opportunity to make changes at C-link.
WHAT OPTIONS ARE THERE FOR CHILDCARE?
Some groups plan a babysitter for all the groups’ children at a location other than the groups meeting place, while others choose to make individual arrangements. TUMC has childcare available during the school year on Wednesday from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
